Restoring your health
RAK Hospital provides a full range of rehabilitative treatment. In addition to on-going skilled care to patients in need of ‘long term care assistance’ with day-to-day activities is on offer. Throughout the center, various innovative technologies are used to guarantee the best available treatment.

• Electrotherapy
• Ultrasound therapy
• Cervical and lumbar traction
• ‘David’ Spine Concept
• Balance and coordination programs
• Strengthening exercises
• Hydrotherapy
• Back strengthening program
• ‘Robowalk’ computerized gait correction
• Gait analysis and training
Various technologies are used to offer the best available treatment:
Hydrotherapy
Rehabilitation in water offers unique advantages compared to other methods. The underwater treadmill is the next step in Physiotherapy. It offers the possibility to perform stationary walking exercises. In combination with a movable swimming pool floor the depth can be changed as per the requirement.
Our aquatic rehabilitation program consists of supervised exercises performed under water. Swimming is not a prerequisite skill. Patients can perform each exercise while standing in the water, holding onto the side of the pool or using a floating device. The water provides a safe and effective method for healing injuries, restoring patient confidence and increasing mobility with each completed exercise.
Its a safe way to perform running or other exercises after injuries or surgeries.
Robowalk
The h/p/cosmos Robowalk system is designed for the analysis and treatment of gait disorders in neurologic, orthopaedic or geriatric rehabilitation. In addition to the treadmill it includes a unit for adaptive visual cueing through the projection of gait patterns on the treading surface. Virtual feedback training happens simultaneously with the help of a large monitor mounted in front of the treadmill.
This patient-pending system utilizes the leading technology for motion support, mobilization, locomotion, gait training, functional training and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Gait and coordination training using virtual feedback
The patient moves in a virtual walking environment and whilst observing his own footprints, performs tasks that require a continual variation of his gait and balancing. Postural control as well as coordination skills are checked and trained as a result.
The various modules allow the training to be individually adapted to each patient.
David Spine Concept
David Spine Concept is a comprehensive evaluation and treatment concept for back disorders. The concept uses carefully targeted movement and controlled loading to reverse the deconditioning syndrome related to back pain.
Individualized programs are planned based on a questionnaire, physical evaluations and tests. Specially designed devices provide a safe and effective way of improving mobility, strength and spinal coordination.
Most back disorders can be treated successfully with the David Spine Concept. These include unspecific back pain, degenerative changes, herniations and post operative situations. Successful treatment requires patient consent and motivation to participate.
