Consultant Urologist
Dr. Mohan is an eminent Urologist, Uro-Oncologist, Uro-Gynaecologist, Andrologist, Transplant, and Robotic Surgeon with over 34 years of extensive and varied surgical experience. He earned his MS (General Surgery) in 1993 from KM School of Postgraduate Studies, VS Hospital, India. He then obtained his M.Ch (Urology) in 1995 from the prestigious KEM Hospital, India. Furthermore, he has completed advanced training leading to a Fellowship in solid organ transplantation from QE II HSC, Halifax, Canada, and a Fellowship of the American Society of Transplantation thereafter. With his extensive background in all forms of urologic and pelvic surgery, Dr. Mohan further enhanced his skills in the cutting-edge technology of Robotic Surgery at the prestigious STAN Institute, Nancy, France, and earned a Diploma in Robotic Surgery from the University of Lorraine, France.
Dr. Mohan is a pioneer in laser urology and has the distinction of being the first to use both Leonardo Diode Laser and IPG Thulium Laser in India. He is an expert in Robot-enabled Kidney Transplant & Robot-assisted Uro-oncological procedures and complex reconstruction of the Urinary tract in both adult and pediatric age groups. He is renowned for his expertise in the implantation of flexible and inflatable penile prostheses, penile lengthening procedures, gender reassignment surgery, exstrophy-epispadias repair, and redo hypospadias surgery. He has played a crucial role in establishing a successful kidney transplant programs in East & West Africa besides the Middle East.
Before joining RAK Hospital, he worked in various organizations such as Fortis Hospital and Apollo Hospitals in India, King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Riyadh and Aster Hospital, Oman. Dr. Mohan is a prolific researcher who has contributed many articles to various peer-reviewed journals and has been invited as a speaker at scientific meetings in over 20 countries. He is also a Professor of Urology and a faculty member for the National DNB Urology training program.
