About Dr. Ashik Kadambot

Dr. Ashik is a highly experienced gastroenterologist, hepatologist, and therapeutic endoscopist with over 20 years of dedicated practice in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders. Recognized as one of the leading gastroenterologists in the Gulf region and India, Dr. Ashik graduated from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry, India. He pursued his postgraduate education and training in Internal Medicine at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, followed by a DM in Gastroenterology from Calicut Medical College in Kerala. He subsequently completed an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship in India as well as CCST training in the United Kingdom under the West Midlands NHS Trust. In 2005, he received the MRCP (UK) with distinction, followed by the MRCP in Gastroenterology in 2010, and later achieved FRCP (London) in 2015.

Dr. Ashik is an accredited Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist. He was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Hairmyres Hospital in Glasgow and worked for nearly 14 years as a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Aster Royal Hospital in Muscat, Oman. During his tenure, he established the first Therapeutic GI Bleed Unit, the first Hepatobiliary Endoscopy Unit, and the first Endoscopic Ultrasound Unit in the private sector in Oman.

He has extensive experience in high-demand interventions, including acute GI bleeding management, complex polypectomies, endoscopic mucosal resections, stent insertions, feeding tube placements, GI tract dilatation, esophageal retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic treatments for gastroesophageal reflux disease, and endobariatric treatments.

Dr. Ashik specializes in endoscopic gastric balloon placement, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG), and EndoBarrier procedures. His expertise in these advanced endobariatric techniques provides patients with effective, minimally invasive options for weight loss and metabolic improvement. By combining cutting-edge techniques with continuous support, he helps patients achieve significant and sustainable outcomes in their weight loss journeys.
