About Dr. Yamen Jabri

Dr. Yamen is a highly accomplished Consultant General Surgeon with over 19 years of clinical and operative experience. He completed his MD at the University of Aleppo in 2003 and obtained his MRCS in 2009 and FRCS in 2022, with formal UK certification of completion of training (CCT) in general and upper GI surgery and structured training in advanced laparoscopic techniques. He also completed a Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) approved senior fellowship in Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Yamen has practiced and gained substantial clinical and operative experience around the UK and in London’s leading teaching hospitals, including King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, where he managed complex upper GI, bariatric and minimally invasive cases within high-volume multidisciplinary teams. His operative practice emphasizes precise, evidence-based care across elective and emergency general surgery, with particular expertise in advanced minimally invasive and complex abdominal procedures.

Beyond clinical work, Dr. Yamen is engaged in medical education, running surgical skills workshops and contributing to continuous professional development at national and international meetings to maintain alignment with global surgical standards. He has led training programs for junior surgeons and medical students, promoting high standards of operative skills and patient safety. 

Dr. Yamen’s special interests include:

  • Bariatric surgery. including weight management, gastric balloon, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty. 
  • Laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery and hiatus hernia repair.
  • Upper GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (OGD).
  • Upper GI Laparoscopic benign biliary procedures: including cholecystectomy, on table cholangiograms (OTC) and Common Bile Duct (CBD) exploration.
  • Laparoscopic and open emergency procedures including appendicectomy, hernia complications, hot cholecystectomy and Laparotomy.  
  • Laparoscopic and open abdominal wall and groin hernias repair.
  • Proctology: fissure, hemorrhoids, fistula, and peri-anal abscess.
  • Management of skin lesions, lumps and bumps.
