About Dr. Ladha El Zaqui

Dr. El Zaqui is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in General, Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery. He earned his MD with Honors in 1990 and completed his Surgery Residency in 1996 at the Medical School of the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium. During this period, he attained a degree equivalent to FRCS (Belgium) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Belgium. An active member of prestigious medical organizations such as the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), the International College of Surgeons (ICS), and the International Association of Endoscopic Surgeons (IAES). He is also a founding member of the Gulf Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society.

Before joining RAK Hospital, Dr. El Zaqui gained extensive experience working in various healthcare institutions in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, France, and Belgium. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in managing obesity and related metabolic disorders. Proficient in various bariatric surgeries, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and duodenal switch. Beyond bariatric and metabolic surgery, Dr. El Zaqui Ladha is highly experienced in gastrointestinal tract diseases, specializing in colorectal and hepatobiliary surgery. He is skilled in managing hernias, gallstones, and other abdominal wall defects. As part of his commitment to continuous improvement, he has attended numerous international courses and workshops.
