Dubai — The inventor of “Zero Technique” and “OS Needle”, joint replacement surgeon Dr Vikram Shah performed the first ever joint replacement in the UAE at the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Hospital on a 69-year-old Emirati woman using the “0 technique”.
Through the Zero ‘0’ technique, a joint replacement surgery is done in 10 minutes against two hours taken by other doctors worldwide to perform the same surgery. The patient started walking within just hours of surgery. The patient’s son (name withheld on request) said: “It makes me very happy that my mother is now relieved of the pain, she was suffering terribly. I did a lot of research and consulted several doctors and finally decided to come to RAK Hospital. She is so much better and started walking just hours after the surgery.”
The patient admitted that she felt no pain after the surgery. She had gone for the surgery due to severe pian in her knees.
